Born to Shmi Skywalker, but with no apparent father, young, Force-sensitive Anakin spends the early years of his life as a slave on Tatooine. An encounter with Qui-Gon Jinn takes the boy down a different path, one that inevitably leads to his training as a Jedi. Despite Skywalker's young age, he plays a key role in the Battle of Naboo, single-handedly annihilating a Trade Federation's Droid Control Ship. Newly elected Supreme Chancellor Palpatine takes a keen interest in Anakin's future.
