A member of the Yellow Aces fighter squadron, ace pilot Zal Dinnes was assigned to the Tierfon launch base before Imperial pilots compelled the Rebels to find a new location. Along with Jek Porkins and two others, Lieutenant Dinnes was transferred to Yavin, where she obtained the callsign Red Eight.
