A space slug reaches full maturity at ten meters and reproduces by splitting into two separate, smaller bodies. However, if it is incapable of this process, its growth will continue uninterrupted, potentially reaching lengths of up to nine hundred meters. At this size, swallowing starships whole and housing entire ecosystems within itself are entirely possible. Often living in asteroid fields, space slugs will burrow into their chosen asteroid until they are completely hidden. There they will feed off stellar energy emissions, minerals contained within the asteroid, floating space debris and other silicon-based space creatures, such as mynocks.
